Laverne Anna Lena Fuchs Hamilton
23 July 1923 ---- 6 September 2018

Laverne A. Hamilton went to her heavenly home on September 6, 2018. Laverne was born to Eduard M. and Amelia (Schwarting) Fuchs in New Salem, North Dakota on July 23, 1923. She graduated New Salem High School and Dakota Business College in Fargo, North Dakota. She had many employers, which included North Dakota Wool Growers Association, Sears, and H&R Block. On September 1, 1946, Laverne was joined in marriage to Charles (Chuck) F. Hamilton in New Salem, North Dakota. They were blessed with three children: two daughters (Patti and Jeannie), and one son (Craig).

Laverne and Chuck lived in many communities over the years in North Dakota, Montana, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. They retired in Estes Park, Colorado in 1981. The Hamilton’s moved to the Good Samaritan Village in Loveland, CO in 2013.

Laverne had many artistic abilities, which included: quilting, knitting, sewing, painting, cooking, and baking. She was a consummate homemaker. She enjoyed church activities, Bible studies, and Christian Woman’s Club. She and Chuck traveled to a number of foreign countries over their 68 years of marriage, enjoying the many sights and time together. Laverne loved to entertain family and friends and especially enjoyed getting to spend time with her children, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

Laverne taught her family many invaluable lessons about faith and the importance of family. We will miss her krautburgers, pfeffernusse cookies, and delicious Hawaiian beef that brought her family around the table to spend quality time together. She has left a legacy that’s unmatchable. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later.

Her parents, sister Ruth, brother Oliver, two sister- in- laws, and her husband Charles precede her in death. Laverne is survived by her 3 children: Patti and her husband Bill of Windsor, CO, Craig and his wife Ranae of Broomfield, CO, and Jeannie and her husband Jim of Stillwater, MN; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers: Arlon Fuchs of Elk River, MN and Leslie Fuchs and his wife Bettie of Layton, UT.

Memorials can be sent in her name to: Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, Minot, ND

[interred in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion, Wright County, Iowa]
