Burdette “Bert” Coddington
June 18, 1871 --- June 17, 1931

Bert Coddington died suddenly about 10 a. m. Wednesday while at his work as section foreman for the Great Western. He was a few feet away from his fellow workmen who thought he was picking up spikes. They noticed him sink to the ground and he was practically dead when they reached him.

Dr. O'Toole was called and also Coroner Walker. The remains were taken to the Kubitschek & Kastler funeral home. No funeral arrangements had been made at the time of going to press.

Mr. Coddington would have been 60 years of age had he lived until today. He is survived by his wife and ten children, six girls and four boys, a brother and sister also survive.

Among the relatives from out of the city who were here to attend the funeral of B. Coddington were Mrs. and Mrs. A. E. Coddington, and Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Coddington of Carroll, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. O'Neal of Bridger, S. D., Mr. and Mrs. B. B. O'Neal of Aredale, Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Flesner of Orient, S. D. and Mr. and Mrs. Frances Merrill of Portland, Ore.
