William F. Baretich, 79, Eagle Grove, passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, at Wright Medical Center, Clarion.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21 from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eagle Grove, with Father Chris Podhajsky officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. There will be a Rosary service at 5 p.m. with a Vigil service following, both Thursday at the funeral home.

William Francis Baretich, 79, of Eagle Grove, died Monday, October 17, 2005, at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2005, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Chris Podhasky officiating. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mona, of Eagle Grove; sons Matt, and his wife, Denise, of Fort Collins, Colo.; John, and his wife, Pam, of Camanche; Dave, and his wife, Karen, of Lake Oswego, Ore.; and Joe and his wife, Karmen, of Falls Church, Va.; a daughter, Cathy Edwards and her husband, Gary, of Moberly, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren: Albert, Anna, Stephen, Rob, Sean, Dan, Ben, Josh, Mark, and Nathan. He was preceded in death by his parents.

William Francis Baretich was born December 30, 1925, at Rathbun, Iowa, the son of William and Frances (Mihalovich) Baretich. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth, graduating from Rathbun High School. He served in the United States Navy as an electrician during World War II. Bill then attended and graduated from Centerville Junior College and Iowa State Teachers College. He was called back into the Navy to serve during the Korean Conflict. He taught school in Oskaloosa, Shell Rock, and Centerville. After receiving his master's degree in administration from the University of Northern Iowa, he served as the high school principal in West Bend, Missouri Valley, and from 1972-79, in Eagle Grove. He then taught special education from 1979 until retiring in 1988. On August 8, 1950, he married Mona Lou Evans at Centerville.

The Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
