James Michael Thielen
May 11, 1954 — March 17, 1982

James Michael Thielen, the son of Matt B. and Isabel O'Toole Thielen, was born at Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa on Mary 11, 1954. He grew up in Eagle Grove and attended special education classes in Eagle Grove, Duncombe and Fort Dodge. For the past several months he had been attending the North Central Sheltered Workshop in Fort Dodge, and lived with his parents in Eagle Grove. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Eagle Grove.

Jimmy had been ill for about a week and on Tuesday, March 16, was taken to the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, where he died early Wednesday, March 17, 1962 at the age of 27 years, 10 months and 6 days.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Matt B. Thielen of Eagle Grove; a sister, Maureen Thielen of Eagle Grove; a brother, Thomas Thielen of Eagle Grove and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for James M. Thielen, 27, of Eagle Grove, were held on Friday, March 19, 1982 at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church. Rev. Fr. John Hemann officiated and burial was in the family lot at Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Rosary services were held on Thursday evening, at 8 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
