Funeral Services Monday For Mrs. Harrison Nelson

Funeral services for Mrs. Harrison Nelson, 82, were held Monday afternoon at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Forbes officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Nelson died Friday afternoon at the Rotary Ann Home where she had been ill for several months. She had been a resident of the Home since 1966.

She is survived by three daughters and one son, Mrs. Wesley Hoefle of LeMars, Mrs. Melvins Cupiss of Des Moines, Mrs. Wendell Snow of Akron, and Orvin Nelson of River Grove, Ill. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Lavon Hough of California and Mrs. Hazel Hyde of Huron, S.D.

Mrs. Nelson was a member of the United Methodist Church, the White Shrine and a 50 year member and past matron of the Order of Eastern Star.

OBITUARY

Pearl Minnie Nelson, daughter of Jacob and Susan Smith Moniger, was born January 27, 1890, in Hawarden, Iowa. She attended the Callope schools.

On December 18, 1912 she was united in marriage to Harrison Nelson in Hawarden and to this union three daughters and one son were born.

The family resided in Eagle Grove for a few years before moving to Burt, Iowa, where they lived about five years before returning to Eagle Grove, where Mr. Nelson was an engineer for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad until his retirement in 1955. He preceded his wife in death November 25, 1966.

Pearl was a member of the United Methodist Church; was a fifty year member and past matron of the Eastern Star and was a member of the White Shrine.

She and her husband became residents of the Rotary Ann Home in 1966 and after Mr. Nelson's death, she continued to make her home there until her passing Friday afternoon, January 18, 1972. She was 82 years and 1 day of age at the time of her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven sisters; one brother and her husband. She is survived by her four children;(Frances) Mrs. Wesley Hoefle, LeMars; Gertrude Melvina Cupiss, Des Moines; (Helen) Mrs. Wendell Snow, Akron; Orvin Nelson of River Grove, Illinois; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters; Mrs. Lavon Hough of California; and Mrs. Hazel Hyde of Huron, South Dakota.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 31, at the Wilson Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, with Rev. Donald L. Forbes officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
