Kist Funeral In Arizona
Mrs. Barbara V. Kist, 72, formerly of the Geneva area, died of a heart attack April 3, in Maryvale Samaritan Hospital, Phoenix, AZ. Mrs. Kist and her husband, Leonard, operated the Son-Kist Egg Farm, Highway 36, Springfield from 1961 to 1972. In the latter year they moved into Lake Geneva and in 1978 moved to Sun City, AZ.

The former Barbara Edwards was born Feb. 5, 1916, in Chicago, the daughter of William and Lillian Ellis Edwards. She married Leonard E. Kist. Sr:, April 27, 1946, in Chicago. In 1954, they moved from Chicago to Twin Lakes and in 1961 to Springfield. Surviving are her husband; four sons, Charles Edward, Mansfield, TX, David Allen, North Richland Hills, TX, Leonard Edward, Jr., Elkhorn and Kevin Eugene, Longmont, CO; four daughters, Barbara Lee Deering and. Candace Christine Kist, both of Glendale, AZ, Rosemary Kay Kist, Chandler, AZ and Beverlee Reyes, Riverside, IL; two brothers, Donald Edwards, Boca Raton, FL and James Edwards, Cleremont, FL; a sister, Dorothy Hertzberg, Sun City, AZ; and 11 grandchildren.

Final rites were held April 6 at Lundbergs Golden Door Chapel, Youngtown, AZ. The family suggested memorials to the American Cancer Society, 634 W. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
