Stores closed Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11 o’clock for the funeral service of Thomas Beavers, 47, who died on Monday, Sept. 19.

The funeral was held at St. Francis church, with the Rev. R. A. Ormsby officiating. Burial was in St. Francis cemetery.

Mr. Beavers had operated a barber shop in Belmond 25 years.
