September 29, 1902 --- February 6, 1976

Funeral services for Cecil E. Bige, 73, of Woolstock were held Monday afternoon at the Kastler-Babcock-DeYoung Funeral Home. Rev. Vincent James, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Woolstock, officiated at the service and burial in the Woolstock Cemetery.

Mr. Bige died at his home Friday evening of a terminal illness. He was a graduate of Eagle Grove High School and had farmed for many years near Woolstock. He retired in 1951.

Mr. Bige is survived by his wife, one son Jeffrey of Woolstock, a step-daughter, Mrs. Donald Cataldo of West Branch, one brother, Martin Bige of Webster City, and two sisters, Mrs. Velma Williamson of Anamosa, and Mrs. Jake Bige [Ratcliffe] of Webster City, and one grandson.

Cecil Elmer Bige was born on September 29, 1902, near Woolstock, Iowa, the son of Ollie and Alice Allen Bige. He was educated in the Woolstock and Eagle Grove schools. He was engaged in farming north of Woolstock until retiring in 1951. He continued living on the farm after his retirement. He was united in marriage to Marcella Black of Webster City, Iowa, on May 20, 1950 at Emmetsburg, Iowa. Mr. Bige died Friday evening at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 7 days.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Jeffrey of Woolstock, and a stepdaughter, Judith, Mrs. Donald Cataldo, West Branch, Ia., also one brother, Martin Bige, Webster City; two sisters, Mrs. Velma Williamson, Anamosa and Beulah, Mrs. Jake Ratcliffe, Webster City; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Harold and one sister, Ruth.

Mr. Bige was a member of the United Methodist Church, Woolstock, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Kastler-Babcock-DeYoung Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Rev. Vincent James of the Methodist Church, Woolstock, officiated and burial was in the Woolstock Cemetery, Woolstock.
