Irene Hazel Scheppler Larson
December 2, 1906 --- January 19, 1986

Irene H. Larson, 79, Clarion, died at the North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City on Sunday evening, January 19, 1986. She had been a patient there since December 2, 1985. Services were held from First Lutheran Church in Clarion on Wednesday morning, at 10:30. Rev. William Granger officiated and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. The Eyler-Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Irene was born on a farm near Woolstock on December 2, 1906 and was the daughter of John L. and Rosine C. Morrel Scheppler. She graduated from Woolstock High School and then attended cosmetology school. She worked as a hairdresser until her marriage to Oscar D. Larson on September 8, 1927 at the Little Brown Church. They farmed north of Holmes for 18 years, south of Clarion for 6 years and north of Webster City until his death in 1966. In 1967 she moved to her home in Clarion.

Survivors include sons, Rodney of Webster City, John of Eagle Grove; a niece raised in their home, Mrs. Robert (Betty Lou) Kessner of Grandview, Mo.; 7 grandchildren, 9 greatgrandchildren; a brother, George Scheppler of Rockford; and two sisters, Marguerite Sheffield of Clarion and Emma Fortune of Webster City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Larson was a member of First Lutheran Church, ALCW, and Priscilla Circle. For many years, she had served on the Clarion Ward 2 Election Board.
