1840 --- January 10, 1890
Died, January 10th, at the Junction House, James Follard of acute gastric catarrh with complications. The deceased was a native of Ireland, and a hard working man. He died after a short illness of ten days. The remains were interred in Rose Hill cemetery Saturday afternoon.

The death of James Follard occurred last Friday January 10th at the Junction House in this city where he has boarded so long. Mr. Follard was a native of Ireland coming to this country about 20 years ago and to Eagle Grove in 1880 when the town was first established. He was a quiet unassuming man and was respected and esteemed by everyone who enjoyed his acquaintance. He was a cousin of Mrs. A. W right of this place, has a cousin or two elsewhere in this country and a half brother in Ireland. Financially Mr. Follard was quite well provided for. He was industrious and frugal and had accumulated a neat little property owning two dwellings in Eagle Grove. His age was about 55 years. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday by Rev. Elliott the interment taking place at Rose Hill.
