Funeral services for Mrs. Thos. Collins of Chicago, Ill., who died Saturday, Sept. 16 in that city were held here Wednesday morning at 9:00 o'clock at Sacred Heart Church. Rev. J. L. Byrne, had charge of the services and burial was In the family lot in Calvary cemetery. Mrs. Collins is survived by one daughter, Mrs. W. C. Gleason of Austin, Minn., and one son, Thomas Collins of Chicago, one brother James Coyle of Tama. Mrs. Collins had been ill only one week following a stroke.For the past fifteen years she has made her home with her son in Chicago. Her husband a veteran engineer for the Northern Iowa Division of the C. & N. W. died here in January, 1923.
Relatives from out of town attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Gleason and five children of Austin, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Collins, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Murphy, Mrs. H. H. Murphy of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Murphy of Springfield, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Fred Murphy and son of Des Moines, James Coyle of Tama.

Thursday, September 21, 1944Mrs. H. B. Murphy returned to her home in Chicago Saturday following a several days visit with her mother, Mrs. Caroline Horan. Mrs. Murphy came to attend the funeral of Mrs. Thomas Collins, which was held last Wednesday.

Wednesday evening at the residence of M. F. Murphy on Commercial avenue occurred the marriage of Thomas Collins and Mrs. Margaret Rutherford. The ceremony was performed by Father Garland at 8 o'clock surrounded by about 120 guests, friends and relatives of the-happy couple. The wedding march was played by the daughter of the bride. The marriage ceremony was followed by a bountiful dinner and the presentation of many useful and beautiful presents, among which was a magnificent silver set. Hugh Donly made the presentation address which was in his own inimitable style. Mr. and Mrs. Collins will make their home in Tama where they will soon begin housekeeping.
