George William Brazee
15 January 1902 --- 16 March 1976

George William Brazee, the son of Effie Springstead and Mark Brazee, was born on January 15, 1902, in New York and died March 16, 1976 at University Hospitals in Iowa City. He had been a patient there two months.

At the age of 14 he moved to Algona, Ia. where he lived with his foster father, Fred Zeigler.

He was united in marriage with Mary Steil on December 23, 1926. To this union, one son and four daughters were born. The family lived many years in the Algona-Corwith area. Later they moved to the Goldfield and Eagle Grove area.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter. Surviving are his wife; children: (Margaret) Mrs. Everett Slaughter of Riverside; Ray of Webster City; (Marilyn) Mrs. Clair Flogstad of Bennington, Neb.; (Sharon) Mrs. Don Weiss of Waukee; and (Shirley) Mrs. Jim Mennig of Niles, Ill.; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandson. Also, two sisters, Vesta Opperman of Hawkeye and Idella Langus of Dubuque.

Funeral services were March 19 at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church in charge of Rev. Wm. Menster of Clarion. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
