October 12, 1882 -- October 15, 1957

Mrs. Eric Dahl (nee Gurine Ovestebo) was born of parents Ole and Sigri Ovestebo, at Askre, Skaanevig, Norway, Oct. 12, 1882. She was baptized and confirmed at Aaaker Lutheran Church. Feb. 10, 1920 she was united in marriage to Eric Dahl. In the fall of 1921 they came to America. She passed away Oct. 15, 1957 at 11 pm. at Mary Greeley Hospital, Ames.

The Dahl family lived near Elmore, Minn., from 1921 to 1930 when they moved to Ottosen, Iowa and
lived there until in 1942 when they bought a farm and moved near Whittemore. In 1944 they sold their farm and bought a farm near Belmond where they lived until 1948 when they sold the farm and moved to Eagle Grove.

In 1945 Mrs. Dahl experienced a spiritual awakening and found peace with God by faith and Jesus Christ. It is the comfort and hope of the bereaved family that she died trusting her Savior and Lord. Her faith in God and her fellowship with Him was her greatest joy and comfort.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died Sept. 11, 1950 and one sister Anna. She is survived by two sons: William, Platte Center, Neb. and Oscar, Ames, two daughters: Clara, (Mrs. Raymond Pittman), Ames and Edith, (Mrs. Russell Fisher), Buffalo Center, fourteen grandchildren,
two brothers: Toger, Aakre, Norway and Ole, Clarion and two sisters Alida, Aaakre, Norway and
Lena, Etne, Norway and several nephews, neices and other relatives.

Funeral services were held from Sacquety Funeral Chapel, Friday, Oct. 18, 1957, 1:30 p.m. and from
Samuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. Pastor B. F. Molstre officiated. Mrs. Oscar Sathre, Miss Ann Falk, Mrs. Alfred Jacobson and Mrs. H. J. Luthro sang at the services. Casket bearers were six nephews of the deceased, Donald, Arnold, Orville, Merle, Paul and Stanley Olson. Interment was made at Rose Hill Cemetery.
