Joseph S. Riden, age 95, of La Grange Park, Illinois died Saturday, September 11, 2021 at La Grange Hospital where he had been cared for after suffering a stroke. He was born April 26, 1926 in Dows, Iowa to Solomon and Mary Gail Riden. He served in the military and was an attorney in Chicago many years. He married Mary Cecelia Clifford in 1971. They lived in La Grange Park together until her death in 2012. He has been a resident of Bethlehem Woods Retirement Community of La Grange for the past several years.

He is survived by his son Joseph Clifford Riden of La Grange Park, his sister Ethel Orrill of Calhoun, Georgia and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 17, 2021, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in La Grange, Illinois with a Visitation at 10 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Francis Xavier Church of La Grange, IL.
