Katherine Elizabeth Stienstra

Katherine Elizabeth Stienstra, the daughter of Jim and Charlene Thompson Stienstra, was born July 17, 1986, in Spencer. The family lived in Spencer until moving to Eagle Grove, on December 30, 1987. Katie died at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, April 6, 1988, at the age of one year, eight months, and 19 days.

Katie is survived by her parents, Jim and Charlene of Eagle Grove; her brother, Chris; her grandparents, Ivan and Lois Stienstra, Spencer; Ron and Elizabeth Robinson of Forest City; and Eldon and Beulah Thompson of Garner; two great-grandmothers, Mrs. Dorothy Houg of Thompson, and Mrs. Goldie Thompson of Buffalo Center, and other relatives.

Services were held Friday, April 8, at 10 a.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. The Rev. Eddie Brown, Eagle Grove, officiated at the services. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove [Babyland]. Arrangements were made by the Warner Funeral Home of Spencer.
