James Elliott Gangstead
5 April 1926 --- 4 October 2006James E. Gangstead, 80, of Dakota City, passed away Oct. 4, 2006 at Israel Family Hospice in Ames.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Humboldt with the Rev. David Cox officiating. Interment will be in Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt, with full military honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5240. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Gangstead is survived by his wife, Beverly Jean Gangstead of Dakota City; daughters, Sherry Lynn Clark of Dakota City, Dr. Sandra Kay Gangstead of Milledgeville, Ga., and Eilleen Marie Pope of Boone; granddaughter, Jamie Lynn McBeth of Rutland; great-grandson, Kyle James McBeth of Rutland; one brother; and two sisters.
