Rites to Be Held Monday
Paul W. Middleton, 43, a longtime resident of Hamilton county died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hamilton county hospital following a short illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Foster funeral home. The Rev. Robert Scott will officiate and burial will be in the Graceland cemetery. Military services will be held at graveside.

Paul William Middleton, son of James and Emma Middleton, was born Jan. 21, 1917, at Modale, Iowa. He received his elementary schooling in the schools at Modale, and when he was 11 years old, he moved with his parents to the Woolstock community where he completed his education and grew to manhood. He served in World War II from 1943 to 1946 in the Pacific war theater. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Gladys Scott March 25, 1949, and the family had always since resided in this community. For the past 14 years Mr. Middleton had been employed at the Franklin Mfg. Co.

He is survived by his wife and three step-sons: Clarence and Earl Scott, both of Webster City, and Howard Scott of Lincoln, Neb.; 10 step-grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James E. Middleton of Webster City; four sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Harold (Wilma) Caquelin, Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Elena Jensen, Webster City, Mrs. Melvin (Helen) Tubbs of Buena Park, Calif., Mrs. Marvin (Shirley) Jacobson of Iowa Falls, Harold Middleton, Fort Dodge, and Albert Middleton, Webster City, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Allen, and one sister, Frances.
