Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Kastler Funeral Home in Eagle Grove for Mrs. John Bowers who died at her home in Goldfield following a long illness. Rev. Paul L. Rust of Holmes was in charge of the services. Mrs. Edward Stupka was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Paul Rust. Casket bearers were Marquis Madison, John McCutcheon, William McCutcheon, George Brazee, Frank Stevenson and Harry Stevenson. Burial was made in Glenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Bowers is survived by four children: Charley of Tekamah, Neb., Leo, Mrs. Oliver Rasmussen, (Emma) and Mrs. Ethan Thomas (Nettie) of Goldfield.

Obituary

Mary Luvina Shafer was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Shafer on Jan. 20, 1876 in LaPorte County, Ind. and died at her home in Goldfield, Thursday, Nov. 18, at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 28 days.

On Dec. 1, 1893, she was united in marriage to Caleb Prusia at Decatur, Nebr. To this union were born four children; two sons, Charley Robert Prusia of Tekamah, Nebr., and Leo Ivan Prusia of Goldfield and two daughters, Emma Fay (Mrs. Oliver Rasmussen) and Nettie Alma (Mrs. Ethan Thomas) of Goldfield.

In 1913 the family moved to Benson, Minn. They also lived at Lac Qui Parle, Minn, for a few years. In 1931 the family moved back to Tekamah, Neb. following the death of Mr. Prusia in 1930.

On Feb. 3, 1932 Mrs. Prusia was united in marriage to John Bowers of Tekamah, Neb. Mr. Bowers passed away several years later at Clarinda, Ia. Mrs. Bowers came to Wright county in 1936.

Mrs. Bowers was converted in 1928 and became a member of the Church of The Nazarene of Lac Qui Parle, Minn.

She is survived by her four children, twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren, one brother, Burt of California, a half-brother, William Shafer of Manning, Ia and many other relatives and friends who knew and loved her. Two sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bowers was a kind, loving and generous mother. She will be missed by all who knew her.
