Lloyd Eldridge Frye
April 14, 1928 --- February 16, 1983

Lloyd Eldridge Frye was born April 14, 1928 near Galt, Iowa, the son of Edward Frank and Birdie Lee Dakins Frye. He received his education in a county school near Galt. Lloyd was united in marriage to Darlene Larson of Eagle Grove on Dec. 16, 1944 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He then worked for General Motors in Detroit, Mich., until 1954, returning to work for Beam Industries in Webster City. In 1958, he left Beam to go into the painting business for himself, living in Eagle Grove at the time of his death from an auto accident, just north of Woolstock on the night of Feb. 16th. At the time of his death, he was 54 years, 10 months and two days of age.

Lloyd is survived by four sons: Rodney, Eagle Grove; Thomas, Tujunga, Calif.; Trent, Phoenix, Ariz., and Terry, Lakin, Kansas; one daughter, Susan Placone, Phoenix, Ariz.; and six grandchildren; one brother, Alvin Frye of Des Moines, and two sisters, Thelma, Mrs. Curtis Weir and Dessie, Mrs. Ivan Wingard, both of Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Doyle; one sister, Beverly June Luke; an infant son, and a grandson.

Funeral services were held for Lloyd Frye at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Rev. Charles Dutton, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Eagle Grove, officiated and burial was in the Woolstock Cemetery, near Woolstock.
