Edward John Novak
25 October 1906 --- 23 July 1973

Edward John Novak, son of Andrew and Rose Novak, was born on October 25, 1906 in Michigan City, Ind. He served eight years in the U. S. Navy during peace time. He was married to Sena Mandsager Haycraft at Omaha, Neb. on May 11, 1932. They made their home in Omaha through 1946 at which time they moved to Eagle Grove where they lived until the time of his passing.

On July 23, he passed away at the Trinity West Hospital, Fort Dodge. His death was unexpected and sudden, and he was 66 years, eight months, and 28 days of age at the time of his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John and Phillip. He is survived by his wife, Sena; three sons, Eugene Haycraft of Charles City; Robert Haycraft of Wichita, Kan.; and Rev. Edward Novak of Sioux Falls, S.D.; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Timm, Mrs. Harriet Trampski, and Mrs. John Wentland, all of Michigan City, Ind.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 28 at the Samuel Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Oliver Johnson of Clarion officiated. Interment was held on the family lot in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
