Marvin William Johnson
13 January 1902 --- 19 December 1966

Marvin William Johnson was born January 13, 1902 at Eagle Grove, Iowa to Hans G. and Maline Hammar Johnson. He died December 19, 1966 enroute to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Dodge, after reaching the age of 64 years, 11 months, and 6 days.

On July 2, 1927 he was married to Bernice Thelma Butz at Fort Dodge. From 1931 until 1943 Mr. Johnson worked for Wright County. He then began working for the Milwaukee Railroad, and later for the Chicago North Western and the Chicago Great Western Railroads as brakeman, conductor, and car repairman. Last July, Mr. Johnson was injured in a car accident and was unable to work since then. At that time, he was employed by the Milwaukee Railroad.

Preceding him in death were his parents, 5 brothers, Sam, Gus, Herman, Madel, and Lawrence, and 3 sisters, Mrs. Belle Baker, Mrs. Sena Snider, and Tillie Johnson. Those who mourn his departure are his wife, Bernice, his children: Virginia, Mrs. Raymon Parrish, Webster City; Marvin, Eagle Grove; Bernard Swayne, Woolstock; Delores, Mrs. Marvin Wergeland, Hardy; Marlene, Mrs. Kenneth Vorland, Hardy; Charlene, Mrs. Duane Baker, Scranton; Jonathan, serving in the Marines in View Nam; 18 grandchildren; a sister, Maude, Mrs. Claude Staley of Spokane, Washington; and a brother, John.

Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 23 at 2:00 at the Sandvig Funeral Home, Rev. H. W. Schiller, pastor of Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery, Eagle Grove.
