Arthur Tilman Thompson, 57, of rural Goldfield, died at his home Tuesday morning. He had been in ill health for some time.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Samuel Lutheran Chruch with Rev. Marvin Dooley officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery Goldfield.

Surviving are his wife: four daughter, Mrs. Everett Omstead, Webster City; Mrs. Ernest Overturf, Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Craig McLaughlin, Des Moines; Mrs. Tim Coleman, Council Bluffs, six grandchildren; two brothers, a twin brother, Andrew T., Webster City, and Bardette Thompson, Clarion.

Mr. Thompson was born in Wright County and received his education in Lake Township near Holmes. In 1937 he married Genevieve Jacobson. The couple farmed in the community.

Arthur Tilman Thompson, son of Sam and Ellen Erickson Thompson, was born April 11, 1912, in Wright County, Iowa.

He received his education in the Lake Center Schools near Holmes, Iowa. He was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and was a member of the Holmes Lutheran Church.

On April 29, 1937, he was united in marriage to Genevieve Jacobson in the Samuel Lutheran Parsonage in Eagle Grove, Iowa. To this union, four daughters were born.

They had made their home in several places in Wright County and farmed for many years in this area until his health failed.

He died Tuesday morning, December 2, 1969, at his home near Goldfield, Iowa. He was 57 years, 7 months and 21 days of age at the time of his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bernard. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Genevieve: four daughters: Mrs. Everett Olmstead, Webster City: Mrs. Ernest Overturf, Kansas City. Mo.; Mrs. Craig McLaughlin, Des Moines and Mrs. Tim Coleman, Council Bluffs; six grandchildren; two brothers; his twin brother, Andrew, Webster City and Burdette of near Clarion.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 5, 1969 at 2:00 p.m. in the Samuel Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove, with Rev. Marvin L. Dooley officiating. Interment was held on the family lot in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.
