Ernest LeRoy Kallem
13 December 1912 --- 22 September 1964

Ernest LeRoy Kallem was born Dec. 13, 1912 to Ed and Louise Kallem at Rothsay. Minn. where he lived until the age of 4. He then moved with his parents to Nashua, Montana where he lived until he was 17, when he came to Iowa where he has since resided.

On Aug. 24, 1910 he was united in marriage with Esther Gunderson. To this union was horn three children, Larry Dean, Marjorie Lou, and Roger LeRoy.

He is survived by his wife, three children, one daughter-in-law, Donna, and one granddaughter Stephanie Lynn. Other survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kallem of Foreston, Minn., and 4 brothers and 6 sisters, James of Foreston, Minn., Robert of Eagle Grove, Kenneth of Milaca, Minn., and Floyd of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Vivian Jones of Goldfield, Mrs. Rose Thompson of Kanawha, Mrs. Elsie Minor of Gilmore City, Mrs. Dorothy Cripps of Marshalltown, Mrs. Joyce Champlain of Torrance, Calif., and Mrs. Jean Lee of Salina, Kan. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Kallem.

His friendly smile kind heart and generous ways will be deeply missed by many people.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 25 in the Samuel Lutheran church, Rev. Jordan T. Jacobsen officiating. Burial service was held in the Rose Hill Cemetery of Eagle Grove.
