Winterset — A graveside service for Raymond Nelson, 80, of Winterset was held May 18, 1988 at the Belmond Cemetery at Belmond. Mr. Nelson died of cancer on May 16 at Winterset Care Center North.

The son of Ben and Esther Nelson, he was born in Illinois on June 7, 1907. He had lived at Winterset for four years, and lived at Belmond and Clarion prior to that. He was a retired laborer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jess and James, and a sister, Clara Ferguson. He is survived by a sister, Emma Schleiffarth of Earlham.
