Mrs. P. A. Rasmussen, 53, a well-known local resident passed away at her home west of Goldfield Friday morning. Funeral services conducted by Rev. John Haupt were held at the Presbyterian church at 2:00 Monday afternoon, October 18th. Mrs. Rasmussen had been ill for only a few days and her death was a great shock to all.

Obituary

Minnie Thompson was born near Hampton in Franklin County, Iowa, June 19, 1884 to Mr. and Mrs. Hans Thompson, and passed to her reward at her home five miles northwest of Goldfield, Oct. 15, 1937, at the age of 53 years, 3 months and 26 days.

In 1895 she came with her parents to Wright County. She lived at home on her father's farm near Goldfield until she was united in marriage to Peter A. Rasmussen on March 16, 1904.

To this union were born six children, all of whom are living, namely: Fern Wig of Clarion, Hazel Gugisburg of Renwick. Lyle, Ivan, Mabel and Harold all of Goldfield. She leaves to mourn her death, four grandchildren, her father, Hans Thompson, two sisters, Mrs. Hans Rasmussen and Mrs. Freeman Pinder and two brothers, Elmer Thompson and Edwin Thompson. Her mother and brother Axel preceded her in death 19 years ago.

Mrs. Rasmussen united with the United Presbyterian church, April 30, 1915.

The family, relatives and friends will always cherish the memory of this loving mother, wife and true friend.

Mrs. Peter A. Rasmussen, 53, died at her home west of town Friday noon. Mrs. Rasmussen had been ill only a short time and her death came suddenly about noon Friday. She is survived by her husband and three sons and three daughters.

Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian church Monday afternoon with the Rev. John Haupt in charged. Burial was in the Glenwood cemetery.
