ETTA S. COLLINS
Etta S. Nielsen was born March 20, 1916, the daughter of Fred and Elvina Sorensen Nielsen at Eagle Grove. She received her education in the Eagle Grove school system. She was united in marriage to Carl Collins, of Powersville, Mo., on December 24, 1935, at Fort Dodge. The couple farmed southwest of Eagle Grove. Following Mr. Collins' retirement, they moved to Eagle Grove. He died in April, 1965. Mrs. Collins continued living in Eagle Grove until moving to the Expo Health Center in Fort Dodge following a stroke on May 28, 1987.

Etta Collins died at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge August 4, 1992, following an extended illness. She had attained the age of 76 years, four months and 14 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, John, Charles, Gerald, and Christian; two sisters, Anna Espevold, and Evelyn Grosland. She is survived by her sister, Betty Welsh of Columbia, Mo., and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held August 7 at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. The Rev. David Miller of the First Baptist Church, Eagle Grove, officiated at the 11 a.m. services, and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
