William Frederick Oliver
19 March 1909 --- 19 June 1960

William Oliver, 51, well known flyer and businessman of Eagle Grove died very suddenly Sunday night in Webster City following an afternoon family reunion, where he appeared to be in the best health. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kenneth R. Torvik, pastor.

William Frederick Oliver was born March 19, 1909, at Aledo, Illinois to Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Oliver. During World War II he was active as 1st Lieutenant in the Army Air Force. In 1947 he came to Eagle Grove as manager of the airport.

In 1934 he married Helen Te Keppe of Mason City, who died in 1952.

On February 14, 1954, he married Mrs. Evelyn Halgrim Harrah of Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by his father, his wife Helen, and their infant daughter, Cynthia Marie.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn, two daughters, Dixie, Mrs. Gary Buzick, of Webster City and Gloria of Minneapolis and a son, William Junior of Eagle Grove. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Anna E. Oliver, a brother Harry, and two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Boughton, Mrs. Stanley Powell, all of Pomona, California.

Mr. Oliver was a member of the board of trustees of the church.
