NEW LONDON, MN -- Edwin P. Kimmel, 81, died Thursday at Rice Memorial Hospital, Willmar, Minnesota. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Irving L. Sandberg will officiate. Burial will be in First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home in New London.

Edwin Kimmel was born June 12, 1911, in Omaha, Neb., to Paul and Molly (Haas) Kimmel. He married Lorene Schulz May 18, 1941, in Omaha. The couple lived in Carroll and then Eagle Grove, Iowa, where he was employed by Fareway Foods Inc. until his retirement in 1973 when they moved to New London. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake.

Survivors include his wife; and sister, Edna Jackson, Glendale, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Russell.
