Nancy Schuelke, age 68, of Eagle Grove, Iowa died Friday, May 28, 2021 in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Funeral services will take place Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Newell, Iowa. Burial will be in the Newell Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. The Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home in Newell is in charge of the arrangements.

EAGLE GROVE — Nancy Schuelke, age 68, of Eagle Grove, IA died May 28, 2021, at Paula Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge, IA.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Newell, Iowa. Burial will be in the Newell Cemetery in Newell, Iowa. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Newell, Iowa. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

She was born in Storm Lake, IA, to Ned and Leona (Witzke) Madson on October 27, 1952.

She graduated from Newell-Providence Community School in 1970. After earning a double major in History and English with a Biology minor from Buena Vista University, she taught in Fonda and Corwith as well as substituting in other schools. She later earned a BA in Special Education.

Nancy was united in marriage to Loren Schuelke on August 4, 1978.

Nancy loved being outside, especially working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She loved all things animal, including zoos, wildlife, horse racing and most of all her dog Buzz.

Nancy was an avid reader of various genre with a special fondness for Robert Frost.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Loren Schuelke; dog, Buzz; sisters: Jane Burnett of Dubuque, IA; Sue (Don) Evers of Fort Dodge, IA; nieces: Shelly (Tim) Ehlinger and sons Spencer and Riley of Holy Cross, IA; Kimberly Burnett-Hackbarth of Dubuque, IA; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ned and Leona Madson; an infant child; mother-in-law, Lorene Schuelke; brothers-in-law: Michael Schuelke and Dean Burnett; and beloved pets: Sam, Sadie, Katie and Bobcat.
