____________________________________________________________

Chris Hanson was born in Langeland, Denmark, September 29, 1866, and passed away at the Mercy Hospital, Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Monday morning, the 19th of June, 1939. His death followed an auto accident in which the car he was driving overturned after hitting some loose gravel in the road. The accident occurred south and east of Fort Dodge. He was brought to the Mercy Hospital and every care was given but his death was due to broken vertebra and hemorrhage.

Mr. Hanson came to this country when a lad of about 15 and worked about at different work until he became employed by the Chicago & North Western Railroad when he was assigned to the section out of Thrall where he worked for over 30 years. For the past 10 or 11 years he has run an oat huller and was doing much of this kind of work just prior to his unexpected death.

On the 6th day of March, 1890, he was united in marriage to Sina [Sena] Hansen, and to this union, ten children were born, three, of them, Florence A., Dora Ella, and Raymond Oscar having preceded him in death. Besides his wife he is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Emma Robb of Goldfield, Mrs. Eva Moore and Miss Bertha of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Pearl Jones of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Blanche Whitley of Danville, Ill., and Miss Vivian of Cherokee, and one son, Lyman of Goldfield. Besides these, there are fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hanson was a good neighbor, a hard worker and honest in his dealings, and will be missed by many friends.

Services were held at Wilson's Chapel, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. T. S. Bassett of Goldfield was in charge; interment was made in the family lot at Glenwood Cemetery.
