Funeral services for Henry Harvey, prominent farmer who passed away on Sunday, May 10, were held at the Baptist church last Wednesday afternoon with Rev. I. D. Halverson in charge. The high esteem to which Mr. Harvey was held in the community was shown by the many beautiful floral offerings. The funeral was one of the largest held here.

Obituary

Henry Harvey was born to Halbert and Maret Harvey on December 31, 1876, on a farm four miles west of Goldfield in Lake township, Humboldt County, Iowa, where he has lived all his life. He departed this life at his home on Sunday, May 10, 1936 at the age of 59 years, 4 months and 10 days.

On Feb. 12, 1908, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Peterson. To this union six children were born, Howard, Marvyl, Alyce, Charlotte and Merle. Charlotte preceded her father in death in 1920 at the age of seven months.

He was confirmed in the Lutheran church when 15 years of age. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, five children, two grandchildren Beryl and Jean Reichter, one sister, Mrs. Clara Tysver ot Sisseton, S. D., four brothers, Anton of Blackduck, Minn., Carl of Silverton, Ore., Nels of Waseca, Minn., and Reier of Grand Meadow, Minn.; also, two half-sisters Mrs. B. H. Omoth and Maria Harvey of Lime Springs, one half-brother, Narvey Harvey of Goldfield and many other relatives and friends.

Mr. Harvey was very active in community affairs, holding prominent positions in many local organizations. He was a prosperous farmer and stock raiser. He was a kind, loving husband and father, a good neighbor and friend and his council and advice will be greatly missed.
