Francis Jondro
15 February 1829 ---- 2 April 1892

Francis Jondro was born at Georgeville, Quebec, Canada, Feb. 15th, 1829, died in Eagle Grove April 2nd, 1892 aged 63 years. Mr. Jondro was married to Harriet Rhem in 1850; they came to Iowa in 1865 and settled at Marshalltown. Last fall they came here from Nebraska in company with the family of their son-in-law, Mr. Spurlin, and built a home on the corner of Cadwell avenue and Dakota street. The deceased had been a faithful member of the Baptist church for twenty-seven years. His illness was of but few days, beginning with erysipelas in the face, when pneumonia set in, which terminated fatally.

He leaves a grief stricken widow, two daughters and one son to mourn his loss. One daughter, who lives in Nebraska, could not reach here in time for the funeral, which occurred at the house Monday afternoon. Rev. A. C. Zellhoefer bestowed the last funeral rites, assisted by many kind neighbors and friends. Music was furnished by a male quartette.
