Frances E. Larson died on Thursday, October 17, 2002, at the Humboldt Care Center South, Humboldt, Iowa, at the age of 95.

Survivors include her children, Betty Kuehn, Renwick, Iowa, Marilyn Jacques, Longmont, Colo., Ronald Larson, and wife, Sharon, Renwick, Richard Larson, and wife, Delores, Bella Vista, Ark.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Buzz Jacques; sister, Dora Schipull; and one brother, Bennie Bronleewe.

Frances Ella Bronleewe was born September 4, 1907, in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of George and Gertie (Duitscher) Bronleewe. She grew up in the area and attended rural country school in Holmes, Iowa, and later, Clarion High School. After her schooling, she worked for the telephone company. On May 12, 1928, she was united in marriage to Raymond Larson in Pocahontas, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple lived in Clarion before moving to a farm southwest of Renwick. She started the hot lunch program in 1946 at Vernon Consolidated and later worked in the hot lunch program at the Boone Valley School. She was a member of the Knit Wits Sewing Club, Senior Citizens Group and a very active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The couple retired in 1975 and moved into town. After her husband's death on April 21, 1984, she continued to live in Renwick until moving to the Humboldt Care Center South on November 1, 2000.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 21, at 1 p.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Renwick, with Reverend James Little officiating. Burial was held in the Vernon Township Cemetery in rural Hardy, Iowa. Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Renwick was in charge of arrangements.
