Gerald Olen Boyington
31 December 1893 --- 11 October 1971

Gerald Boyington, 77, died Monday at a Mason City hospital from injuries suffered in a fall 10 days ago at home in Dows. Born Dec. 31, 1893, at Galt, he was the son of Allen and Fanny Collins Boyington. He was a veteran of World War I and was married to Hazel LaRue June 1, 1927. Surviving are his wife, a son, Richard, Tacoma, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Scott, San Pedro, Calif.: eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a brother, Hugh, Dows; four sisters, Mrs. Walter Koencke, Litchfield, Minn. Mrs. Carl Kallensoul, Mrs. E. D. Carter, Mrs. Richard May all of Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by a son, a grandchild and a brother. Funeral services will be Thursday at First Presbyterian Church. Military rites will be conducted at Fairview Cemetery by Watson-Beach Post of Dows American Legion.
