Marvin C. Larson, son of Peter and Randy Olson Larson, was born at Holmes, Iowa on November 30, 1909. He graduated from Goldfield High School in 1927. He then attended in the first class of Eagle Grove Junior College where he graduated. During World War II he served with the Air Force. He had been in the men's clothing business in Rock Rapids and Emmetsburg and in 1965 retired to California. He had been ill and in Rock Rapids the past several months.

Marvin C. Larson, former Holmes resident, died at a Rock Rapids nursing home on Jan. 17, 1985 at the age of 75. Survivors include a brother, Duane and a sister, Elma Lynge, both of Rock Rapids and several nieces and nephews. His parents, three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Marvin C. Larson, 75, were held in Rock Rapids on Monday morning, Jan. 21. A prayer service was held at the Eyler-Willim Funeral Home, Clarion, on Monday evening and burial followed on Tuesday morning at the Holmes Cemetery. Rev. Carlton Shaw was in charge of the local services.
