Frank Topliff Boaler
30 December 1877 --- 5 January 1955

Frank T. Boaler, 77, died early Wednesday morning at his residence, the Grove Hotel, of a virus infection and heart complications.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon January 7 at 2 p.m. at the Kastler Funeral Home. Rev. John Taylor, Episcopal minister of Fort Dodge will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Boaler has been sick for several weeks with the virus infection. The heart condition which proved fatal developed about a month ago. He had been under a doctor's care during that period.

Mr. Boaler was born December 30, 1877 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Most of his early life was spent in that city. On September 27, 1904 he was married to Ruby E. Tripp.

In November 1933 he and Mrs. Boaler bought the Grove Hotel and with their daughter, Editha, moved to Eagle Grove where they have resided since.

Previous to entering the hotel business, Mr. Boaler had been a salesman traveling for several nationally known firms. Harness racing was his hobby and he had data on all the nation's famous trotters. He made several trips to New York state where harness racing is a popular sport.

He belonged to state and national hotel men's associations and was a member of the Eagle Grove Chamber of Commerce. He attended these businessmen's meetings regularly until his illness and took a vital interest in Eagle Grove's problems and promotions.

Mr. Boaler prided himself on dressing correctly and well and he made an excellent picture each morning as he stepped out on Broadway, for the trip, to the post office.

He is survived by his wife and his daughter, Editha, and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Boaler Rowles of Ann Arbor, Michigan, who will be present at the funeral Friday.
