Amos Julius Iverson
11 March 1886 ---- 5 December 1977

Funeral services for Amos J. Iverson, 91, a lifelong Dows resident were held on Thursday, December 8, 1977 from the First Lutheran Church. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery and the Willim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Iverson died Monday morning, December 5, 1977 at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton where he had been a patient since Friday.

He was born on March 11, 1886 at Dows and was the son of Edward and Andrina Iverson. He was baptized and confirmed at the Otis Grove Lutheran Church and grew to manhood at Dows. For a number of years he farmed east of town and later was associated with his brother-in-law, N.C. Halvorson in the Halvorson and Iverson Funeral Home and Furniture Company.

On January 1, 1936 he was married to Ardeth Hackbarth at Dows and she survives. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Alma Johnson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Mr. Iverson was a member of First Lutheran Church and had been active in the work of the church serving as treasurer for over 40 years. He had been a member of the town council and the election board. He also held membership in the Knights of Pythias.
