Adam Wesley Williams
25 December 1857 ---- 9 May 1928

Adam Wesley Williams was born, near Carmi, Ill., December 25. 1857 and died May 9, 1928, at his home near Corwith. He was the youngest of a family of seventeen, all having preceded him in death but one brother and two sisters. He was married November 24, 1879 to Amy Gowdy. To this union were born four children, James at home; J. W. of Fort Dodge; M. W. of Chicago; and Mrs. Mollie Toillion of Eagle Grove, all of whom survive. He professed faith in Christ at the age of 20 and was a member of the Primitive Baptist of Carmi, Ill.

Mr. Williams had been afflicted with heart trouble since last November and was just able to be up about the house when he suffered a stroke of paralysis April 17 from which he never recovered. He bore his sufferings with great patience and at all conscious moments talked with the family that he was going home and that he wanted them all to meet him in Heaven. He leaves to mourn his departure besides the four children, a loving companion, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother of Norris City, Ill., and two sisters, Mrs. Kate Randolph of Carmi, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Wiley of Grey Bull, Wyo.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Thursday afternoon by Rev. Halverson of Corwith, Iowa, and was laid to rest in Rose Hill cemetery at Eagle Grove.
