Prudence E. Larson Swearingen Comstock
16 May 1922 ---- 15 March 1987

Prudence (Prudy) Larson, the daughter of Louis D and Emma (Mattson) Larson, was born at Iowa City, Iowa on May 16, 1922. Her early youth was spent in Britt and Sioux Rapids and Eagle Grove, Iowa.

On December 26, 1946, she was united in marriage to John T. Comstock, at Eagle Grove. Jack and Prudy lived in Iowa City following their marriage while he attended the University of Iowa Law School. They then lived in Grinnell, Des Moines, and moved to Sanborn in 1954.

Prudy was a member of Saint Andrews United Methodist Church at Sanborn, the U.M.W., and belonged to various bridge clubs.

Prudy passed away at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa on March 15, 1987 at the age of 74 years, nine months and 29 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, John of Sanborn; one son, Charles E. Comstock of Altoona, and one daughter, Lynne L. Lanphere of Brewster, Minnesota, and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held March 18 at Saint Andrews United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Wittstruck officiating. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn, with the Sanborn Funeral Home in charge.
