Dorothy M. Ward Unger
25 September 1910 ---- 14 May 1971

Funeral services for Mrs. John (Dorothy) Unger were held Sunday afternoon from the United Methodist Church. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Willim Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Unger died Friday morning at the Clarion Community Hospital, where she had been a patient since January 8, 1971.

Born on September 25, 1910 at Jewell, she was the daughter of Edgar B. and Bessie A. Gramby Ward. She was raised and educated in the Ellsworth-Jewell area and came to Dows in 1928.

She was united in marriage to Mr. Unger on on Christmas Day 1928 at Dows.

Mrs. Unger is survived by her husband; her mother, Mrs. Bessie Ward, Iowa Falls and one son and one daughter: James Unger, Dows and Mrs. Melvin (Beverly) Bangs of Alden. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; two brothers, Milo Ward of Iowa Falls and Donald Ward of Grand Rapids, South Dakota; sisters: Mrs. William (Edna) Cessford, Mrs. Dale (Ruth) Rollene and Mrs. Rosco (Donna) Knott, all of Iowa Falls; Mrs. Paul (Norma Jean) Koop, Webster City; Mrs. Dick (Freida) Hutzell, LeGrand; Mrs. Ike (Joan) Pomeroy, Estherville and Mrs. Clarence (Beatrice) Akers of Dows. Also surviving are several half brothers and sisters; Mrs. Perry (Sylvia) Ayers, Jewell; Mrs. R. J. (Edith) Schoelerman, Everly; Clifford Ward of San Diego, California and Hershell Ward, Las Vegas, Nevada. Preceding her in death was her father, one grandchild and one half brother.
