Page 14, Column 1Hazel Marie Streitilmier, the daughter of Joseph and Sadie Hefte Shaw, was born on January 17, 1920 at Kanawha, Iowa, where she grew up and received her education in the rural schools. On Jan. 31,1941, she was united in marriage with Bernard A. Streitilmier at Jewell, Iowa. The couple lived most of their married life in Eagle Grove, where he worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for many years. They lived in California for two years, while Mr. Streitilmier was in the U.S. Army. He died in February of 1976. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Chicago NW Women's Auxiliary in Eagle Grove.
She had been in poor health for the past several months and had been in the University Hospitals at Iowa City and for the past three days at the Clarion Community Memorial Hospital, where she died on Friday night, Jan. 10, 1986 at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 23 days.
She is survived by two sons, Glen of Eagle Grove; Ronald of Goldfield; a daughter, Darlene, Mrs. Gary Riley of Clear Lake; her father, Joseph Shaw, a resident of the Belmond Care Center; four grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Caroline Neve and Evelyn, Mrs. Orville Engleman, both of Austin, Minn.; Mrs. Bernice Lindsay of New Hartford, Iowa; Mrs. Eldoris Lindsay of Cedar Falls, Iowa; four brothers, Donald of Austin, Minn., Orlan of Spring Valley, Minn., James of Riceville, Iowa, Robert of Hampton; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, an infant son, her husband and a brother, Wayne Shaw.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel M. Streitilmier, 65, of Eagle Grove, were held Monday, Jan. 13, 1986 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Scott C. Hall, church pastor, officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held Sunday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
