Katheryn M. Peterson Dietrich
17 December 1878 ---- 30 June 1970

Mrs. Katheryn M. Dietrich, 91 of Dows, died at Clarion Community Hospital Tuesday morning. She entered the hospital on Saturday.

Services were held from the Presbyterian church Thursday. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery and the Willim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Born on December 17, 1878 in Scott County, the daughter of Sophus and Marie Nielsen Peterson, she moved to Marshalltown at the age of six years. There she received her education and was married to Jacob Dietrich on January 8, 1908. After their marriage they moved to Franklin County where they farmed near Alden and Popejoy. Later the family moved southeast of Dows where they farmed until retiring in 1957.

Surviving are one son and one daughter: Guardy D. Ginder, Houston, Texas and Miss Arlene Dietrich, Omaha, Nebraska. There are four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. F. C. Dickey of Traer surviving. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Delores Schmidt of Joyce, Iowa and Mrs. Avon Dietrich, Alcester, South Dakota. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband in 1968; two sons, Joseph and Kenneth, one brother and six sisters.
