Earl E. Smith, 92, passed away December 22, 2020. Earl was born February 22, 1928 in Eagle Grove, Iowa to Charles A. and Margaret L. (Fischer) Smith. Earl served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946 aboard the U.S.S. Bunker Hill (CV-17). He married Joyce E. Schulz of Fort Dodge, Iowa on August 31, 1946. Earl worked for 26 years and retired from John Deere, Des Moines Works on September 30, 1987. He loved to hunt small game and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed gardening and tending a few calves on his acreage, but most of all he loved a good Joke.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Margaret and his beloved wife of 65 years Joyce. Earl is survived by sons Daniel and wife Linda, Robert and wife Karen, 5 grandchildren Angela, Christy, Kristy, Mike, Molly and 9 great grandchildren Trent, Amy, Bryan, Zach, Braedan, Taylor, Kelsey Cecelia, Alice.

A Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
