"The Angel has Soared." The Angels took Jerry Amosson of Carrollton, Texas, to be re-joined with his wife, Constance Mae Amosson in his Father's house, on December 2, 2013, at the age of 76.

Jerry was born October 30, 1937, in Renwick, Iowa, and was raised in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1955. Jerry was the eldest son of Harold and Vaughna Amosson. He will be greatly missed by his five children: Maria Amosson of Carrollton, Angela Amosson Kalsch, and husband Phil, of Carrollton, Kyhl Amosson, and wife Andrea, also of Carrollton, Brett Amosson, and wife Tammy, of Mountain Top, Pa., and Chad Amosson, and wife Sami, of Southlake, Texas. His legacy of love continues through his 10 grandchildren: Nicholas Amosson of Carrollton; Joshua, Jac, Luke, and Brooke Amosson of Mountain Top, Pa.; William and Thomas Kalsch of Carrollton; Sarah and Lily Amosson of Southlake, Texas, and Ignatio Amosson of Carrollton.

He is survived by his two sisters, Lynne Jennings of Eagle Grove, Iowa, and Julia Rutledge, also of Eagle Grove; and two brothers, David Amosson and Stephen Amosson who live in Texas.

Prior to retiring, Jerry worked for Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC), Xerox, and Collins Radio. He maintained his full-time position as Executive Grandfather, Chauffer, Parental Financial Advisor, Life Counselor, Family Banker, Teacher and Zen Master. Jerry faithfully attended St. Mark's Catholic Church in Piano, Texas, and was often seen throughout the neighborhood on his daily walks. His niece, Vaughna Amosson Rethman, said it best, "He said so many things without saying a word."

Jerry exemplified extraordinary kindness, generosity and compassion in all areas of his life. He was a devoted husband, dedicated father, and loyal friend. His life was a testimony of unconditional love as witnessed by his children, friends, and community. He had a servant's heart, comedic wit, prophetic wisdom, and a calming nature that exuded peace. He now joins the communion of saints.

Funeral services were held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 4. He was buried in Piano, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the ALS Foundation in Memory of Connie and Jerry Amosson. als.org/donate.
