Ruby Carlson McCormick, age 90, of Sioux Falls, SD, died Monday, December 14, 2020, at Ava's House.

She was born on February 9, 1930, in Clarion, Iowa. Ruby Aletha, daughter of Ole and Bertha Carlson, married Glenn E. McCormick, her school sweetheart, on March 11, 1950, in Clarion, Iowa. The family moved to Sioux Falls, SD, and she was privileged to stay at home while raising her 4 children. Ruby later enjoyed working with her husband, Glenn, at the GEM Agency, at the framing gallery with her son, Michael, and at HyVee, handing out food samples and visiting.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, her parents and siblings, and one son, Roger. Grateful for having shared her life are a son, Michael (Judy), Sioux Falls, their sons, Cole (Jeanette), Jackson, MN, and Ryan (Crystal), Sioux Falls, a daughter, Patricia (Brady) Lunde, Watertown, SD, their children Peder (Shawn), Sioux Falls, Marc (Timberly), Watertown, Sara (Jeremy) Kills-A-Hundred, Sioux Falls, daughter Gwendolyn (Dan) Dummermuth, Franklin, TN and their daughter Danielle (Andrew) Magana, Ft. Collins, CO.

She is survived by 7 great grandchildren: Landon McCormick, Arabella McCormick, Brekken Lunde, Brayden and Abby Kills-A-Hundred, Tucker and Kaiser Lunde. Family was everything to Ruby and she set a great example for how they should lead their lives by taking them to church, going to their school events and playing games with them and laughing together.

Due to the pandemic and everyone's safety, a service will not be held. Her family will celebrate her life at a later time. If a donation is made in her memory, the family suggests Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, SD, where she was a member or Ava's House, Sioux Falls, SD.
