Anna Gurine Lilledahl Chipman
2 May 1900 ---- 30 May 1951

Mrs. Claude Chipman died early Wednesday morning, May 30th, at her home, 600 E 3rd Street South. Mrs. Chipman, the former Anna Lilledahl, had been ill for three years. Funeral services were held June 2nd at the Evangelical Lutheran church in charge of the pastor, Rev K. R. Torvik. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Chipman is survived by her husband, her daughter Mrs. Jerry Ruby, also one sister, Mrs. Arthur Rice of Eagle Grove, and two brothers Thor Lilledahl of Cedar Rapids and Ole Lilledahl of Chicago, and two grandchildren. Her parents and one sister Johanna Lilledahl preceded her in death.

Obituary

Mrs. Anna Gurine Lilledahl Chipman, daughter of Christ and Julia Lilledahl, was born May 2, 1900, at Etne, Norway. The father Christ Lilledahl preceded the family to the United States, the family following in 1905.

In March 1915, she was confirmed by the Rev. H. A. Okdale. She was later graduated from Eagle Grove high school.

October 1, 1923, she married Claude C. Chipman. To this union was born a daughter, Mary Ann, now Mrs. Ruby.

Preceding her in death are her parents and a sister, Johanna. Surviving to mourn their loss are her beloved husband and daughter. Also, a sister, Mrs. Inga Rice of Eagle Grove and two brothers Thor Lilledahl of Cedar Rapids and Ole Lilledahl of Chicago, and two grandchildren.

She was a life-long member of Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church and a member of the Ladies Aid.

After three years of illness, she passed away on Memorial Day, Wednesday, May 30, 1951. She died happy in the assurances of her Christian faith.
