Funeral services for Minnie Lavina Durrant, 86, were held from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williams on October 29, 1991. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Dows. A wake was held October 28 from the Elledge Funeral Home in Dows.

Minnie Durrant died Sunday, October 27, 1991 at the Dows Health Care Center where she had resided since February.

She was born in Kentucky on July 28, 1905 to Patrick and Minnie Crenshaw Macken. She received her education in Kentucky and later moved to Iowa. She married Harold Frizzell and they lived in Clarion. After his death she remained in Clarion and lived with her son Donald. On August 28, 1938 she married Dr. M.J. Durrant and they made their home in Dows. He died August 13, 1953.

In 1959, she began living with her daughter Sharon Jackson until her health forced her to the Hampton Care Center and recently to the Dows Health Care Center.

Survivors include two daughters: Sharon (Mrs. Kenneth) Jackson of Dows; Sandra Oatman of Butler, Georgia; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Frank and Charles of Evansville, Indiana and Raymond Macken of Long Beach, California and 2 sisters, Frances Morris and Gertrude McAllister, both of Evansville, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands, 5 brothers, 1 sister and 1 son.
