Oelwein – Gerald K. "Jake" Johnson, 59, of Oelwein, died Friday, Jan. 7, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, after a long illness; survivors include his wife, Ruth, and a daughter, Angie Woods, both of Oelwein; a granddaughter; six brothers, Ray, Leo and Leonard, all of Waterloo, Edward of Webster City, Marvin of Calif., and Bob of Ill.; and two sisters, Faye of San Diego, Calif., and Mert of Waterloo; he was preceded in death by his parents, Henry L. and Estella Keister Johnson; and a sister, Donna; services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, both in Oelwein; friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home; a memorial fund has been established; Mr. Johnson had been a dental technician for Dr. Roling for 20 years in Waterloo, Cedar Falls and Oelwein, retiring in 1984.
