Mary Katherine (Long) Hobscheidt
July 15, 1913 ---- December 1, 1993Mary Katherine Hobscheidt, 80, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 1993, at her home in Corwith, Iowa.
Katherine, the daughter of Alva and Nellie (Edmunds) Long, was born on July 15, 1913, in Murray, Nebraska. She received her teaching certificate from Peru State Teachers College in Peru, Nebraska. Katherine taught school until she was united in marriage with John Hobscheidt on May 18, 1938 at Plattsmouth, Nebraska. The couple farmed in Nebraska until moving to a farm near Corwith in 1942. Since 1967 the couple wintered in Mesa, Arizona.
Survivors include her husband, John of Corwith, Iowa; a daughter Judith Ann Hobscheidt of Palm Springs, California; a son, John and his wife, Mary Hobscheidt of Corwith, Iowa; three grandchildren Matt Hobscheidt, Amy and her husband, Ron Main, and Ann Hobscheidt. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
