Dows - David Lee Cuppett, 43, died at his home May , 2, 1940 after a long illness. He was born March 8, 1897 at Belmond and graduated from the Belmond High School. He attended business college at the Commercial College at Waterloo.

He married Laura Ann Fanselow in 1915. They lived in Dows for many years and he owned and operated the Cuppett Garage, retiring about a year ago on account of his health. His wife, his parents and three children survive him. The children are a son and twin daughters: Paul and Jeanice of Dows and Mrs. Jeanette Thurmond of Williams; also a sister and one grandson.

Funeral services were held held Sunday afternoon in the Methodist church. Burial was in the Morgan township cemetery.
